Sigma Chi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated is actively seeking partnerships with government agencies, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that share our commitment to community development in Jersey City and Hudson County.

What we bring to a partnership

  • Senior to mid-career executive professionals with industry backgrounds spanning financial services, law, higher education, healthcare, organised labor, and many more.

  • A chartered, organized alumni base of professional men committed to service, seated in New Jersey's second-largest and fastest-growing city.

  • Direct roots in Jersey City history: a tree planted in honor of George Biddle Kelley, one of Alpha Phi Alpha's Seven Founders, whose wife Harriet Gross was a Jersey City native.

  • The backing of a national organization operating continuously since 1906, with structured national programs already built and ready to execute locally.

Alpha Phi Alpha's national programs are community outreach and mentoring initiatives mandated for implementation across every chapter. Ours include all four, each with a named chair:
